Loaded Bulldogs Back on Spring Practice Field

Coach Curt Wiese Has His Most Experienced UMD Team

University of Minnesota Duluth Football Coach Curt Wiese led his team through day two of Spring Practice Wednesday at Malosky Stadium.

Wiese enters his fourth season as head coach next fall and he has a lot of talent coming back.  15 starters, 10 on offense, and many more that played significant roles on both sides of the ball.

Coming off the disappointment of not making the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2015, Wiese says this spring session may be the most important of his tenure.

“We have a seasoned team coming back, maybe as old a football team as we’ve had in a long time,” said Wiese.  “I feel great about those guys, but we also have a really solid class of guys we redshirted last year that we need to bring along and make sure those guys are putting themselves in position that they’re ready to go by next fall.”

The Bulldogs will continue practicing until the Maroon-White game April 22nd.
