Trost Named NSIC Preseason Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year

UMD sophomore Emilee Trost received the NSIC Indoor Track Athlete of the Year honor

Emilee Trost has had a remarkable 2016 already but more is expected. The UMD sophomore was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. Coaches collectively chose Trost for this honor.

Trost earned NSIC Indoor Track Athlete of the Year honors last month. Trost placed second in both the mile run and distance medley relay at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championship.

Last year in her debut year, Trost was named an NCAA II All-American after taking fourth in the 1,500-meter run.
