One Dead after Minneapolis Officer-Involved Shooting

Minneapolis police shot and killed a suspect who was stabbing a man in an apartment Monday morning. 

Authorities say officers responded to reports of a combative man armed with a weapon around 5:15 a.m.  Police say they found the suspect holding a knife.  He then ran into an apartment.  Officers forced their way into the home after hearing cries for help. 

Officials say the officers found the suspect stabbing an adult male.  They then opened fire on the suspect. 

The man who was shot was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.  The  man who was stabbed was also taken to HCMC.  The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.  

Police say an officer was also treated at the hospital for a broken bone.
