Duluth Robbery Suspect Arrested

A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to an attempted robbery in Duluth on Friday. 

Joel Wayne Thunder is charged with 2nd Degree Aggravated Robbery. 

The Duluth Police Department responded to the area of 2nd Avenue East and 2nd Street around 10:40 a.m. on reports of an attempted robbery. 

A woman told police that  Thunder opened her passenger door, got into her car, made threats and demanded money. 

He then fled the scene.  Police located Thunder, who was attempting to hide in a parking lot in the 200 block of East Michigan Street. 

Thunder has a lengthy criminal record including charges of 2nd Degree Arson, Obstructing the Legal Process, Disorderly Conduct and Theft.
