Three Escape Duluth Apartment Fire

Three people escaped an apartment fire in Lincoln Park Monday night.

The Duluth Fire Department responded to the blaze at 3219 Vernon Street around 11:35 p.m.

When crews arrived, they could see fire and smoke coming from the building.

Three residents of the upstairs apartment escaped the building safely.

No one was home in the first level apartment.

Firefighters put out the blaze, but both levels of the building and the attic sustained heavy damage.

Damages are estimated at $60,000 to the complex and $20,000 to contents.

The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, however, officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
