Duluth Burglary Suspect Arrested

A 59-year-old man has been charged with burglary after allegedly breaking into a store last weekend. 

Duluth Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 100 block of East 1st Street around 9:00 Friday morning. 

The building manager told police he entered the building, heard noises, and discovered the suspect inside. 

Police located the suspect, identified as 59-year-old Jeffrey Scott Martens, with stolen items in his possession. 

Martens was arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Burglary. 

He has a lengthy criminal record including possession of a controlled substance, several counts of fleeing police in a motor vehicle, damaging property, and several driving violations.
