Oliver Bridge to Close Daily through October

The Oliver Bridge connecting Oliver, Wisconsin and Gary New Duluth will close on a daily basis starting at the end of the April. 

According to the Douglas County Highway Department, the bridge will close for railroad repairs beginning April 27. 

The closures will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

The bridge will not be closed on holidays. 

The road will be open for travel at noon on the Friday’s before heavy tourist events such as Grandma’s Marathon or Bayfront Blues Fest. 

The bridge will be open all day Thursday and Friday for events that start on Thursday such as the Tall Ships festival. 

Repairs are expected to be done on October 31.
