Silver Bay Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sex Crime

A Silver Bay teacher has pleaded guilty to a sex crime against his daughter’s best friend.

Fifty-one year old Troy Paulseth pleaded guilty to fourth degree criminal sexual conduct and had two other charges dismissed.

He was accused of giving alcohol to the 19-year-old girl before sexually assaulting her last July after the Bay Day festival.

The criminal complaint says the victim woke up to Paulseth kissing her neck and stomach area with her pants down.

Paulseth is quoted in the criminal complaint saying he drank too much, stupid things happen and he was disappointed in himself.

He was placed on administrative leave from the Lake Superior School District after the incident happened.

His sentencing is set for June 8th.
