Man Gets Sentence for Causing Death of Superior Man Riding His Bike

The man who killed a Superior man in an accident involving a bike and car has been sentenced.

Seventy-two year old Lowell Rudd will serve a year of unsupervised probation for a careless driving misdemeanor.

Another charge of failure to keep right was dropped.

Rudd struck and killed 44-year-old Richard Brill on September 27, 2015.

Police say Brill had been riding his bike at the intersection of Lavaque and Morris Thomas Roads when Rudd crossed the double yellow center line into the northbound lane and hit Brill in the northbound shoulder.
