‘Ten Pigs’ Author Makes Reading Fun

Derek Anderson Knows How to Have a Good Time

And now the story of a little pig who just wants to take a bath with his rubber duckie.

That’s how the story of Ten Pigs starts

Ten Pigs is an epic tale of a pig who tries to have a quiet bath, yet has one too many friends getting in the way.

Author Derek Anderson reads his story to children at the Duluth Public Library.

“It’s playful and fun; I bring props on the road with me,” Anderson said of his appearance. “It’s just a chance for kids to associate playfulness and fun with reading.”
Anderson also says he has the greatest job in the world.

“When we are talking to kids at such a young age about reading, we’re hopefully fostering a life-long love of books,” said Anderson.

Anderson’s appearance in Duluth is part of “Once Upon a Reader,” a statewide initiative targeting literacy in younger children.
