Boats are Coming Out for the Season

Busy Times at Barker's Island Marina

It’s finally starting to feel like Spring and Barker’s Island Marina is getting boats in the water.

Right now they’re using special equipment to service boats and move them around smoothly and safely.

They say if you haven’t gotten your boat in you’ll want to soon, because weekends will be very busy at the marina.

With gas prices low, they say this will be a busy summer because more folks will be out on their vessels.

“Even a medium-sized power boat can burn an awful lot of gas in a day, so with fuel prices being about half of what they were awhile ago, people will take their power boat to Bayfield and not have to spend $1000 in fuel,” said Allen Thomas, service manager at Barker’s Island Marina.

If you still need to get your boat ready for the season experts say you should be washing and waxing them to keep the boats clean and fast.
