Fire Burns 365 Acres in Paul Bunyan State Forest
Crews continue to battle a wildfire that has burned 365 acres in Lake Hattie, MN.
The blaze is burning five miles northwest of Lake George within the Paul Bunyan State Forest.
According to the Minnesota Incident Command System, structures are not threatened at this time, but timbered land is at risk.
MNICS says the fire has burned lowland grass, mixed pine plantations, mature pine and upland grass.
Efforts to put out the fire have been hampered by reduced access and difficult terrain.
The fire is 10 percent contained at this time.
Fire crews are battling the blaze from the air and the ground.
The Minnesota DNR, the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Lake George Fire Department, U.S. Forest Service and the Conservation Corps. of Minnesota are working together to extinguish the fire.
