59th Year Of Celebration For The Lions Club
A long time tradition continues in Duluth. 59 years strong Duluth’s Lion members have hosted the group’s Annual Pancake Day Celebration.
For just seven dollar guests get to enjoy unlimited helpings of hotcakes while funding projects in the Greater Duluth Area.
“We support a lot of local programs. diabetes, vision youth,” Pancake Chair, Mike Mazzio said.
Hitting the griddle is something Duluth Lion’s Club member and veteran flipper, Dave Rutford looks forward to yearly.
“I would love to see a lot of people come down and eat pancakes,” Dave said.
He has seen his share of pancake records since first volunteering back in 1993. “I think our record year was around 11,000.” Dave’s family proudly claims one of these records. his son once ate 30 cakes in one sitting. For many families this has become an annual outing. some folks have been attending the event for decades.
