Lake Superior Zoo Says Bye To Trouble

A popular Lake Superior Zoo exhibit has become the bearer of bad news for visitors.  Trouble, the zoo’s Alaskan Brown Bear has been a staple of the facility for more than a decade.

Trouble will be to relocated to a bear sanctuary. The bear’s movement is a result of the zoo’s 15 million dollar remodel, and the sanctuary would provide a natural environment and improve trouble’s health.

“They are tight knit and there will be tears shed. we have mixed emotions but we know it’s the right thing to do for trouble’s health and well-being,”
Lake Superior Zoo, Director of  Animal Management, Dave Thompson said.

the zoo plans to bring brown bears back to the facility a after their remodel.
