Many evacuated because of a fire located just east of Hoyt Lakes

There is a wildfire prompting evacuations on the eastern Iron Range.

Warm and dry temperatures have created dangerous fire conditions across the region.

There is currently a wildfire in the Skibo area, about six miles southeast of Hoyt Lakes.

Laura Lokken from Northland Village Assisted Living said they have evacuated 20 people from their facility near Hoyt Lakes at this time.

The fire is estimated at 100 acres and growing.

All of northern Minnesota and Wisconsin are under a complete burning ban, this includes campfires and backyard fire pits.
