One Treated for Smoke Inhalation after Hibbing House Fire

A woman was treated for smoking inhalation after a house fire in Hibbing Thursday morning. 

The Hibbing Fire Department responded to the fire just before 10 a.m. on the 1100 block of Michigan Avenue. 

When crews arrived, they saw smoke coming from the home.  The fire was contained to a bedroom and the living room area. 

Authorities say a woman was home at the time of the fire and was taken to Fairview University Medical Center-Mesabi in Hibbing and treated for minor smoke inhalation. 

Damages are estimated at $40,000. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
