Langenbrunner Leads the Lumberjacks
Cloquet's captain leads the team in stats and on the field.
Mak langenbrunner leads the lumberjacks.
“She’s our team leader, she’s our team captain and she’s a catalyst for our team, she gets our team going,” said Cloquet softball coach, Ron Tondryk.
The senior short–stop is not only a captain. She also leads the team in all offensive categories.
“She’s our team leader in triples and batting average, probably doubles… Pretty much in every category the last two years she’s been our best player offensively,” said Tondryk.
Not only does Langenbrunner lead her team in triples but she also leads the area.
“Its just fun to run the bases and I’m picking up coach hoping he keeps me running,” said Langenbrunner.
Langenbrunner takes softball seriously but it’s that fun that keeps her playing.
“Can never get enough ball,” said Langenbrunner. “Honestly everything about softball is so fun. My favorite thing is just turning a double play, it’s so exciting.”
And it’s that excitement that is pushing Langenbrunner to continue to the college level.
“I’m planning on just walking on. I’m playing on a summer team this coming summer so i’ll get to know some of the girls and hopefully have some fun,” said Langenbrunner.
With Langenbrunner’s senior season winding down, Cloquet is enjoying their final games with their captain.
“She’s going to be tough to fill. That position, her role on the team is going to be sorely missed,” said Tondryk.
Because after this season Langenbrunner will conquer a new challenge.
“It is very nerve wracking but i think it’ll be another great chapter,” said Langenbrunner.
