Routine Inspections May Cause Delays

MnDOT will begin summer inspections

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will begin a few routine inspections, which may cause drivers to experience some travel delays.

The northbound lanes (toward Duluth) on the Blatnik Bridge over the St. Louis River between Minnesota and Wisconsin will undergo a routine bridge inspection from 9am – 3pm, Monday, July 25 through Thursday July 28.

Traffic will be restricted to 10-foot-wide lanes and the speed limit will be restricted to 45 mph.

Another inspection will begin on the ramp from 21st Avenue West to northbound Highway 53 from 9am- 3pm, Thursday, August 4.

Motorists are asked to be patient and drive carefully near the work zone areas.

These inspections help to ensure roadways are reliable and safe for freight movement and transportation routes.
