Power work slowed when crews arrived to challenging terrain and extensive tree removal

Crews with Lake Country Power are working to rebuild lines in remote areas near Ely. The challenging terrain and extensive tree removal slowed restoration work for crews in the area.

Service has been restored for nearly 27,000 members since the region was pounded with severe thunderstorms on July 21. Crews are closing the gap for less than 600 members remain without power at this time.

Trees that have been weaked by the storm will continue to present a challenge, occasionally toppling onto lines and causing additional outages. Members should call 1-800-421-9959 and press #1 to report any new outages.
