CHA Finally Getting New Building

Ground Breaking on Friday

The ground breaking for the location of the new building was held Friday morning, a month behind schedule, because of the recent storms.

CHA has been around since 1980. The current building has been in use for around 25 years. Cha representatives say they had gotten good use out of the building, but it was coming to the end of its useful life.

“We’ve been talking about a new shelter for 5 years or so, it took a lot of time to find the right site, this is probably the 4th or 5th site we’ve looked at. This is going to be a nice dog and cat friendly area,” said Ted Kramolis, the president of CHA.

CHA is a non–profit organization and is looking to raise 800,000 dollars for the new shelter.
