Ecumen Lakeshore Celebrates Becoming Smoke Free Campus
Retirement Community Implements New Smoke Free Policy
Ecumen Lakeshore, a Duluth retirement community, celebrated a milestone Monday.
The retirement community is implementing a new smoke-free campus policy. The policy comes just after the release of a study by Minnesota Department of Health that shows policies like this lessen exposure to second hand smoke, and help people smoke less, or even quit smoking.
“Being a healthcare campus it’s very important to keep our staff and tenants and residents, patients, healthy and safe from Tobacco,” said Jena Evans, the Community Relations Manager of Ecumen Lakeshore.
The policies apply to not only inside the building, but the whole premises of it.
