Citizens Show Support For Superior Police

Hundreds to Participate in "Night of Blue"

A group of Superior residents have a strong statement to make they support local law enforcement, and they want to show it on their own homes.

It’s called Superior ‘Night of Blue’ free blue light bulbs have been offered at Kwik trips, city hall offices and the library.

Available for people who want to pick them up and light them on their porch Tuesday night.

So far they’ve gone through about 1,200 bulbs.

“I’m really proud to be the recipient of it, despite all the national media I really do feel we do a very good job in Superior, sometimes it’s a thankless job,” said Chief Nick Alexander. “That’s not the case in Superior.”
This is all a community push to support officers, the bulbs were funded by local organizations.

Organizers even have plans to light up some of the community buildings in blue.

The “Night of Blue” is happening in conjunction with National Night Out.

That’s a community event that aims to help citizens and police officers get to know each other a little better. Superiors National Night out is Tuesday 6- 8 p.m. at Community Park.
