Fruehauf Takes Win Over Blank For DA Seat

For the first time in more than 20 years, Douglas County is getting a new district attorney.

After the primary election Tuesday night and with 100 percent of the precincts reported, Mark Fruehauf defeated incumbent Dan Blank with 59 percent of the votes.

It was a highly talked about race with the heavy endorsements from law enforcement officials like Superior Police Chief Nicholas Alexander and Douglas County Sheriff Tom Dalbec.

Fruehauf will take the official win in November, as there is no Republican challenger for the seat.
