Early Tuesday afternoon, Ironwood Public Safety Officers were dispatched to a structure fire at 246 W. Ash Street.

Upon arrival a female subject advised officers that a male was still inside the home. It was determined a domestic dispute had occurred and the male suspect barricaded himself in the residence and attempted to start the house on fire.

Public Safety officers were able to gain entry to the residence and remove the subject and he was transported to a local hospital. The fire had extinguished itself, but the home had filled with smoke.

The male Ironwood resident has been charged with domestic violence, his third offense, and two counts of resisting and obstructing.
