Family Olympics at Duluth Area YMCA

Event Hopes to Spark Excitement and Encourage Community Members

You may have seen some incredible moments during this summer’s 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, but Wednesday, you could become an Olympian right here in the Northland!

Katie McBride with the Duluth YMCA stopped by FOX 21 to explain all of the fun going on.

The first ever Family Olympics will take place from 4:30p.m. until 7:30p.m Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Duluth YMCA.

Activities include gymnastics, swimming, along with track and field.

The event is open to all ages. Snacks will be provided, along with an opportunity for pictures by some Olympic rings, and flag making. Free prizes include a membership to the YMCA, and admission to a free youth camp program.

The goal of the event is for community members to be able to experience what goes on at the YMCA and get in the spirit of the Olympic Games.
