Hartley Nature Center Seeks Donations, Volunteers to Rebuild

Coffee Conversation: Hartley Fundraiser

Hartley Nature Center is still working to get back in shape following devastating storms in mid-July.

The storms took out hundreds of trees in Hartley Park, destroyed the yurt at the nature center, and also caused damage to the playscape area.

Now, Hartley officials are asking for help.

On Wednesday, August 24, the center is hosting an open house for any residents who would like to attend.

Tom O’Rourke, executive director of Hartley Nature Center, says attendees will get an opportunity to tour the damage and make a donation.

There will also be a sign up sheet for volunteers and refreshments served.

This will take place at the nature center from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Hartley Nature Center is located at 3001 Woodland Ave. Duluth, MN 55803.
