Annual Jefferson Street Block Party Kicks Off Saturday

Annual party brings neighbors together

The annual Jefferson Street Block Party will kick off on Saturday, August 27 from 2pm to 5pm on the 1600 block of Jefferson Street*. The party is an annual family friendly celebration that brings together hundreds of neighbors from Jefferson Street and across the Endion neighborhood.

This year’s party will feature live music from Kyle Ollah and the Dumpy Jug Bumpers, Hannah Rey, and Lyz Jaakola and the Indian Head Band.

Burgers, brats, and veggie burgers will be provided, and people can sign up to bring other potluck items.

Throughout the event, there will be activities for neighbors to meet one another and compete for prizes from neighborhood businesses. Some activities include Neighborhood Bingo, a water balloon toss, and the Slowest Bicycle Race – whoever crosses the finish line last wins.

A tie-dye station will be set up to give grownups and kids a chance to make a party t-shirt.

A silent auction will feature valuable items from neighborhood businesses, including gym memberships and gift certificate for massage and chiropractic care.

The 2016 Jefferson Street Block Party is made possible by the following sponsors: Marine General, Super One Foods, Edina Realty, Anytime Fitness, Vintage Cafe, Endion Square Children’s Center, LLC, Endion Properties, Inc, and Loaves and Fishes Community.

*In the event of rain the party will move to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 1710 E Superior Street.
