Park Point Garage Fire Under Investigation
A Garage Fire Broke Out Shortly After Ten Thursday Night
Duluth Fire Officials are investigating a garage fire that broke out at 2519 Minnesota Avenue shortly after 10:00p.m. Thursday.
The garage, located along Duluth’s Park Point, is reported to be suffering damages of up to $140,000.
Authorities responded to the call, arriving on scene to hear explosions of oxygen tanks from the garage. At this time, no injures are being reported, but officials say a bird and cat were removed from the scene.
31 Firefighters responded to the blaze, working nearly three hours to extinguish a major part of the fire.
Duluth Police evacuated neighboring residents, while Minnesota Power shut off electricity to the building.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
