DTA’s Grocery Express Expands Hours
Bus Now Runs on Tuesdays & Saturdays
The Duluth Transit Authority is expanding its Grocery Express program with the goal of helping more Northlanders.
It’s designed to help families living in an area far from a grocery store.
The buses run on Tuesdays, but that day doesn’t work with everyone’s schedule. So, the DTA added Saturday to the bus schedule.
“The ridership, even though it’s not what we had anticipated, it’s still regular. The same people are riding the bus,” said DTA General Manager Dennis Jensen.
Last Saturday was the first week with the new schedule and it exceeded the Tuesday ridership.
“It’s something that the board wants to do and we think it’s a needed service for the community and we’re hopeful we can make it even better,” said Jensen.
