Drop Off Your Unwanted Fishy Friends at Animal Allies

Unwanted Fish Event Provides a Second Chance to Household Pets

Things will be getting pretty fishy at Animal Allies in Duluth this Saturday, September 24.

In partnership with the Minnesota Sea Grant, the Snake Pit, and World of Fish, Animal Allies will host a “Habitattitude Surrender” event from 10a.m. until 4p.m.The event provides Northlanders the opportunity to bring unwanted household fish from your aquarium, providing a new opportunity to find a new home for them.

The unwanted fish event will provide a permanent and convenient pet adoption or return option for unwanted fish to avoid harmful release into our environment.

Experts say the environment and native species can be potentially harmed by the release of pet fish and aquarium plants into Minnesota waters.

This is the first ever “Habitattitude Surrender” event in Duluth. Habitattitude is a national public awareness campaign which started in Duluth and has 250 partners.

Animal Allies is located at 4006 Airport Road.
