Biking Across America for Service Animal Awareness

He is taking his cause to the trails to educate the public

An Idaho man is taking his cause to the trails.

Thomas Cole is riding his bike across America to bring awareness to service animal rights and access and recently stopped in Duluth.

It’s for an organization he started called Velo Cause Rider.

Cole has been diagnosed with PTSD and calls his service animal, Charlie, his angel.

“It actually allows me to talk about my illness and learn more and be able to interact with the public. That’s the most important part in understanding your pain,” Cole explained of his work.

In the towns he visits he stops by stores, organizations and public access buildings to make sure everyone is aware of animal service guidelines.

“I just want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be treated like a normal person,” said Cole.

Next, Cole and Charlie are heading to the U.P. of Michigan and Maine.
