Duluth Woman’s Cello Stolen From Home

Community Comes Forward to Help Local Musician

A Duluth musician is asking for the community’s help to solve a crime, after her prized possession was stolen from her apartment.

Rachel Gobin has been playing the cello for about 15 years. She currently plays in the band Superior Siren and also performs in local orchestra performances.

Last month she was shocked to discover her instrument and its equipment had been taken from her locked apartment. It’s a loss of about $5,000.

“Why would you take somebodies instrument, take whatever else,” said Gobin. “It doesn’t matter but the instrument is like a part of me.”

For the time being a friend has loaned Rachel her cello for upcoming performances. They are also raising money for a new instrument for her here.
