A Solar Project is Completed

The North Shore Community School is now celebrating the completion of a solar energy project.

The project consists of two solar panels, along with an interactive kiosk that will allow teachers and students to track solar production data.

Robbie Tietge, a Sixth Grade Teacher, said “The teachers have the chance to tie in curriculum with that and it’s really great because the upper kids in my grade are working on energy, but it ties math, science, social studies into our curriculum.”

The school also recently completed a 10,000–square foot edition that has many energy saving technologies and features.

The new solar panels will help heat that area.

Minnesota Power played a major role in funding the 150,000 dollar project.
