Essentia Hospice Holds ‘Service of Remembrance’

Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospice held a Service of Remembrance.

The annual service is held for family and friends of people who have passed away in Essentia’s hospice care in the past year. The name of each person was read and a candle lit in their memory.

It’s one more way for loved ones to honor those they’ve lost.

“One of the common statements I hear from people is I thought I was the only one or I thought I was alone. And it’s a great day for all the people to gather,” said Ellen Hufschmidt, a bereavement coordinator for Essentia St. Mary’s.

After the service, friends and family were able to thank the hospice caregivers for their support.
