Volunteers Needed at Fairlawn Mansion

Outdoor Lovers and Garden Enthusiasts are Invited to Help Out

Happening over the next few weeks, Flashlight Tours will take over the historic Fairlawn Mansion in Superior, but before the fun and games, there’s work needed to be completed.

Volunteers are needed Tuesday, October 18, starting at 9:00a.m. and going until noon.

Staff will be preparing the ground and gardens for winter, and planting a few new things for the following year.

This is the first year the public is invited to come help out with the winterizing.

“With three large properties to maintain and a very small staff, it’s difficult for us to be able to get some of the things done that we really need to or properly need to,” Museum Coordinator Stacie Buchanan said.

Staff is asking for volunteers to dress appropriately whether it is rain or shine.

Fairlawn Mansion is owned and operated by the City of Superior.

“It really is important for us to be able to have a couple extra hands to really get things together for us,” Buchanan said.

Coffee and donuts will be provided for those helping out.
