Celebrating International Credit Union Day in Superior

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Begins Festivities

Renovations are complete at a credit union in Superior, and just in time.

It’s International Credit Union Day.

A ribbon cutting ceremony marks the official end for the work done at the Tower Avenue location for Superior Choice Credit Union.

The holiday helps spread the word that credit unions are non-profit banks that allow members to be co-owners.

The credit union’s president says having a share in the bank allows for customers to remain more loyal over the years.

“The members here have come in and claimed this branch as theirs,” said SCCU CEO Gary Elliott. “That’s cool!”

The renovations at SCCU began back in August.
