Duluth to Purge Gas Line for 4th Street Reconstruction Project

People may smell a gas ordor, but should not be concerned

The City of Duluth is informing the public about a planned gas line purge at 18th Avenue East and 4th Street on Thursday, October 27, 2016.

The purge will commence around 11 a.m. and last 1-2 hours.

People in the neighborhood will smell a gas odor, but should not be concerned.

The purging allows trapped air in the newly installed gas line to clear before the City can activate gas service to the new line.

The upgraded utilities are part of the overall project to reconstruct and improve 4th Street.
