Brett Scott comes to FOX 21 Local News as a native Northlander. Growing up an hour north of Duluth in Silver Bay, Brett has always enjoyed exploring, learning, and getting to know new people across many parts of Northern Minnesota.
Brett started his career with FOX 21 in May of 2016, walking in the door as an intern to finish his degree, and eventually being named Morning Anchor for FOX 21 Local News at 7. You can catch Brett at the anchor desk regularly on weekday mornings, as well as weekends from time-to-time.
Graduating from William M. Kelley High School in 2013, Brett continued his education right away, packing up to attend St. Cloud State University in Central Minnesota. The proud husky alumnus graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, emphasizing in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Human Relations.
Brett was highly active during his college days, quickly taking the initiative to join UTVS, the University Television Station for SCSU, and the greater St. Cloud area. The station reaches over 33,000 households, with two live, student run newscasts produced Monday through Thursday. Brett swiftly moved to the anchor desk during his freshman year, and continued his journey of telling stories and producing newscasts for three years, through various reports and broadcasts.
During free time, Brett is always keeping an eye open for the latest developing story, or simply chatting with Northlanders about issues and life in our community.
Brett enjoys traveling, new adventures, spending time with family, and is always up for a hike on Duluth’s beautiful lakewalk. Snowshoe journeys with his St. Bernard, Brutus, as well as the occasional snowmobile ride, give Brett the passion to continue living and working right here in the Twin Ports.
