Safety Tips for Halloween

We Asked Superior PD How to Keep the Kids Safe

As children knock door to door to fill their bags with candy, it’s important to remember over all the fun,  that safety should come first.

Police will be out patrolling, and the Superior Police Department said they’ll even have an auxiliary unit out called the Pumpkin Patrol, to specifically keep the children safe, while still celebrating the Halloween spirit by handing out candy. Police recommend that children wear something that is reflective, so motorists can see them in the dark.

“Go trick or treating with your kids so you can watch where they’re going and what they’re doing,” Matt Markon, Assistant Chief at the Superior Police Department said.

Officers say theft is fairly common on Halloween and people stealing and smashing pumpkins and other decorations can get in trouble.
