New Development in Duluth Houses Coffee, Bagel Shop

The Endi Housing Complex Won't Open Until January, But Business is Already Booming

Duluth is now home to the Northland’s first Caribou Coffee and Einstein Bros. Bagel Shop, located on London Road.

The conjoined store is located in the new Endi Housing Complex.

A grand opening ceremony happened Wednesday morning, with the first 50 folks in line receiving free coffee and bagels once a week, for one year.

Spokesperson Bri Bauer tells FOX 21, nearly 100 people showed up for the opening event.

She’s optimistic the location will do well, because she believes the new shop is important to the community.

“It’s really the best of both worlds in one spot; fresh baked bagels, freshly brewed coffee and a community gathering place,” said Bauer.

This is the 43rd Caribou Coffee and Einstein Bros. Bagel location being opened up since 2015.

“We’re proud to be founded in Minnesota by John and Kim Puckett in the 1990s, and here we are today, opening our new concept store with Einstein Bros. Bagels called Coffee and Bagels. But Caribou Coffee as a company continues to be loved and appreciated throughout communities all throughout Minnesota,” said Bauer.

Currently, Minnesota is the only state where Starbucks isn’t officially the “king of coffee.”

Bauer says the Minnesota based company is looking at a few more locations across the Northland, however, that information won’t be confirmed until next spring.
