Warm Weather Means Slow Winter Business
Winter Weather Gear Stores Still Fully Stocked
The unseasonably warm weather this November means the winter shopping season is getting off to a later start.
Winter gear stores around the Northland are still pretty much fully stocked on merchandise.
Northwest Outlet in Superior says they still have several styles and colors of winter coats and accessories. They describe shoppers this fall having little urgency to get out and buy their cold weather gear.
They say early bird shoppers can see a lot of benefits, because when it does eventually get cold things will likely be a bit chaotic.
“The hard part is when the rush hits and it snows and starts getting cold, then things start disappearing really fast instead of being spread out over time,” said store manager Dave Miller.
When preparing to dress for the drop in temperatures sales associates say look for layers, and remember thickness translates to staying warm.
