Geographic Information Systems Day

UMD Celebrates GIS

UMD’s Geospatial Analysis Center hosted Geographic Information Systems Day. The event included almost 20 college run and community programs that demonstrated the various ways GIS can be used to better people lives.

Stacey Stark of the UMD GAC says, “We like to see students from all different fields learning a little about geospatial technology and how that tool can be used in their fields, so anything from healthcare, to business to biology.”

For those in search of more, the UMD GAC offers “Ask A GIS Expert” from 9am–12pm every Tuesday.
