Minnesota Vikings Announce Release of Kicker Blair Walsh

The Minnesota Vikings have released kicker Blair Walsh, the team confirmed on Tuesday.

The move comes after the Vikings’ loss at Washington on Sunday, 26-20, where Walsh missed his fourth extra point attempt of the season. This is the team’s fourth consecutive loss after starting the season 5-0.

The Vikings’ had worked out free agent kickers in their game against the Detroit Lions, but made the decision to stick with Walsh for at least one more week.

Walsh was a sixth-round draft pick back in 2012 and made 133 of 158 (84.2 percent) of his field goals during his time in Minnesota with a career-long of 56 yards.
