UWS Celebrates Diversity with Annual Performance

20th Annual UW-Superior Cultural Night

Several cultures will be celebrated this weekend during UW-Superior’s Cultural Night.

UWS is currently home to the most international students in the school’s history.

There are 225 international students attending the school from 50 different countries.

There will be international cuisine, a fashion show, a flag show, presentations and performances.

World Student Association member, Chantele Nelson, says this event is important because the students are able to reach out to more people in the community than just other students on campus.

Nelson says it’s a great honor to share her Jamaican culture with the community, “I definitely love to talk about Jamaica. A lot of persons are not able to go there and talking about it helps me feel more closer to home.”

The event will be Saturday, November 19.

Dinner with dishes from around the world starts at 5:00 p.m. and the show will follow at 7:00 p.m.

There is ticket information at uwsuper.edu/culturalnight.
