Attempted Abduction Reported near Great Lakes Elementary School

Superior Police responded to the call on November 14

On Monday, November 14, 2016, around 4:30 p.m., Superior Police responded to the report of a man who attempted to abduct a 9-year-old girl near Great Lakes Elementary School.

The girl was safe at a relative’s residence at the time of the report.

The suspect was described as a male, tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and black gloves.

It is reported that the suspect came out of a wooded area just east of the Great Lakes School at 129 N 28th Street E, and tried to grab the girl.

The girl reported that she was able to run away from the suspect without any further altercation.

Officers responded to the area that was described by the girl and conducted a thorough search, but could not find anyone matching the description of the suspect.

The case is being followed up on, but no other information is available at this time.
