CSS Hosts Yale Law Professor For Lecture Series

James Forman Jr. gives presentation on "Growing up Black in Urban America"

St. Scholastica continued their Alworth peace and justice lecture series. For this lecture CSS brought Yale Law Professor James Forman Jr. to give his presentation “Growing Up Black in Urban America”.

Forman is the son of prominent civil rights leader James Forman, Sr. and came to St. Scholastica to discuss race and the criminal justice system.

Forman says it’s important to visit smaller towns and schools because the problems our nation faces won’t be solved by just the big cities.

“It’s going to be done in every state, in all 50 states, and in all corners of every state. So I feel like it’s important to get to every nook and cranny to have this conversation,” said Forman.

Forman is just one of the many speakers that have joined CSS for their “Voices of America” series.

The next presentation will be February 9.
