Operation Christmas Child Surpasses Goal in Northland

The group received 5% more donations than last year.

After a week full of giving, Operation Christmas Child organizers in the Northland have reached their goal and then some.

The group packs shoeboxes full of school supplies, hygiene items, and toys for kids in need all around the world.

They filled two semis with 7,714 boxes which is 5 % more than last year’s donation total.

“We enjoy anticipating the Christmas season with this effort and we know that there’s reason for real hope in the Christmas story and it’s our pleasure to bring that along for others who may not have heard it,” said Duluth site coordinator Mark Steward.

The boxes will be given to kids in Africa and St. Lucia.
