2 Arrested on Kidnapping and Assault in Chisholm

Victim taken at gunpoint near Highway 7 and Iron Junction Road

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the Chisholm Police Department responded, on Saturday, November 26, 2016, around 8:30 a.m., to the 100 block of 6th Street SW in Chisholm, Minnesota, on a report of unknown trouble.

While responding, law enforcement officers learned that a 21-year-old male was being held at gunpoint against his will.

Officers learned that the 21-year-old had been taken out of the vehicle at gunpoint near the intersection of Highway 7 and Iron Junction Road around 11 p.m. the previous evening by a male wearing a Halloween mask.

The victim was later transported to the location in Chisholm, and made phone calls to attempt to secure his release for a predetermined amount of cash.

Kyle Martin Olson, 28, of Eveleth and Anthony Joseph Lokken, 21, of Chisholm were subsequently arrested at the scene in Chisholm and booked into jail for cone count each of Kidnapping and 2nd Degree Assault.

The incident remains under investigation with additional arrests and charges expected.
