Arrest Made in Residential Burglary in Aurora

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of a residential burglary in progress in the 5900 block of Trigstad Road in Aurora, on Sunday, November 27, just after 4:30 p.m.

The police report states that the victim had arrived home to find an unknown van in the driveway and a male inside of the garage. The male fled in the van, pursued by the victim in his vehicle. During the pursuit, the victim eventually lost sight of the van, but was able to obtain a description of the suspect. 

Based on the description, sheriff’s deputies were able to identify Dylan James Dewhurst, 22, of Aurora, as a possible suspect.

Four hours after the initial report, officers checked an address in the 4100 block of Highway 99 in Aurora for Dewhurst. Dewhurst drove into the driveway with the same vehicle suspected of being involved in the burglary, and was taken into custody without incident.

Dewhurst has been booked into the St. Louis County Jail in Virginia on the charge of Second Degree Burglary.
