Knowing Your Neighbors: Waxing the City
Waxing the City provides customers with a superior wax and employees with skills for a career.
Dani Lindberg can’t help but smile as a cerologist at Waxing the City in Duluth. “I like making people feel good, even little things like getting their brows done,” said Lindberg.
The full body waxing service company gave her the first chance at a career in a field that she loves.
“They definitely helped me through a lot of hard times,” said Lindberg.
Lindberg spent part of her teenage years homeless living at the Harbor House.
“It feels like it was yesterday,” said Lindberg.
Lindberg worked her way through school and get the job at Waxing the City a month after graduation.
“She goes above and beyond,” said Waxing the City owner Jo Haubrich.
The company is an employer of choice which mentors young women for future careers.
“I think passion is the biggest thing we have with her right now,” said Haubrich.
Waxing the City cares for clients from brow to toe with waxes unique to the company.
“We’re not the fastest but we just find ways to create long term relationships with our clients,” said Haubrich.
The company grooms each employee for success along the way.
“It took a long time, but I’m in a very good place,” said Lindberg.
Waxing the City is open seven days a week. They recommend appointments, but will take walk-ins.
They also said that waxing isn’t just for women, 25% of their clients are men.
